Love Island stars Samie Elishi and Tyrique Hyde are expecting their first child together. The couple, who found love earlier this year, announced the happy news on Monday morning, October 19, 2026.
They shared an Instagram video featuring an ultrasound scan and a sonogram. In the clip, the pair appeared overjoyed, giggling with excitement, and 27-year-old Tyrique beamed while holding the scan pictures. Samie, 26, simply captioned her post with a white love heart emoji, and famous friends quickly sent their congratulations.
Tyrique reposted Samie's video, writing, "DON'T MAKE A SCENE. CAN'T WAIT FOR THIS NEXT CHAPTER... LOVE YOU @samieelishi." Fellow reality stars offered well wishes: Jess Harding wrote, "Ahhhhh mum & dad can’t even cope," while Sammy Root commented, "CONGRATULATIONS BOTH OF YOU!!!!!!" Kelsey Parker added, "Love you so much. so excited for you. You are going to make the best Mummy ever. I literally had the vision and it was true. You’re witchy friend always xxx."
Samie and Tyrique have been dating since earlier this year and recently moved in together. They both appeared on different seasons of Love Island in the same year. Samie was on the winter 2023 version, which was won by Kai Fagan and Sanam Harrinanan, while Tyrique featured on the summer version, where he was coupled up with Ella Thomas.
Earlier this year, Samie won the All Stars series with Ciaran Davies, but they split just three weeks after leaving the villa. She subsequently found love with Tyrique. Samie previously addressed claims from her ex that she ghosted him and broke up with him over the phone, stating they were "not on good terms." In March, Samie said, "So I wasn't actually going to say anything about the situation. Normally I crack on and stay silent but I feel like it's everywhere and unfortunately I cannot."
She continued, "I want to start off by saying it's actually a bit sad that someone you once had a lot of respect for and saw in a certain light would go on a podcast and say you said things that you categorically did not. We all know that they are rumours and everyone who knows me knows that those things would not come out of my mouth. So I wanted to clear that up for a start."
Regarding her split from Ciaran shortly after the villa, Samie explained, "Secondly, girls it's okay to call things off with someone that you're talking to or dating. Me and Ciaran were in the very early stages of dating and we got into the real world and it just didn't work. And that is absolutely fine, I don't think anyone should be getting sick from it not working. I get that people were invested, but guys its life, sometimes things don't work."
Samie concluded by stating she had been "true" to herself. "If not being with someone that everyone else wants me to be with makes me a bad person then maybe I'm a bad person. But what I have been is true to myself with my feelings throughout the whole experience and coming out. You can call me a lot of things, but you can't call me a liar. One thing I cannot do is fake it with anyone. Things changed when we got out and that is it. That is all there is to the story, there is nothing else."
