About the hotel

Built in 1864 by the same vision that created the Casino de Monte-Carlo next door, the Hôtel de Paris is the centrepiece of Casino Square and the social heart of the principality. Rubbing the raised knee of the equestrian Louis XIV statue in its lobby remains the gambler's ritual before crossing to the tables.

A renovation completed in 2019 rebuilt much of the interior around two new courtyard gardens while preserving the Belle Époque façade and the legendary cellars — 350,000 bottles in galleries cut into the rock in 1874.

Suites & dining

The Princess Grace Suite, assembled with the princely family's input and photographs, is among Europe's most expensive rooms. Alain Ducasse's Louis XV — the restaurant that made hotel dining a destination — holds three Michelin stars beneath its gilded ceilings; Le Grill on the roof opens to the sky.

The celebrity connection

Grace Kelly's Monaco runs through the hotel — her suite is its crown — and every Grand Prix weekend the terraces become the paddock's dress circle, with drivers and owners a lift-ride from the harbour chicane. Winston Churchill, Charlie Chaplin and the Ballets Russes fill the historic ledger; F1, tennis royalty from the Monte-Carlo Masters, and the Rose Ball set fill the current one.
