The couple, who had been together for nearly a decade, recently announced their split. Ferrer, who turned 33, received a heartfelt tribute from Balvin. In a post translated from Spanish, he wrote, "Today I celebrate your life, Vale. I celebrate the woman you are—your light, your strength, the way you love, your wisdom and that heart of yours that makes life more beautiful for those fortunate enough to know you."

Accompanying a series of photos, including a throwback and a snap of their son, Balvin continued, "Thank you for giving me the greatest gift in life: Río. Just a few days prior, Ferrer had confirmed the end of her relationship with Balvin, whose real name is José Álvaro Osorio Balvín. She emphasized that the former couple, who began dating in 2017, are prioritizing their son. "It was a decision made out of love, respect and the desire to do what is best for our family," she explained. "Our priority will be continuing to be there for Rio with all our love."
