Johnny Depp

John Christopher Depp II (born June 9, 1963) is an American actor, producer, and musician. Born in Owensboro, Kentucky, he moved frequently during his childhood before settling in Florida. Depp dropped out of high school to pursue a music career, eventually transitioning into acting.

Depp gained initial fame on the television series *21 Jump Street* (1987-1990), but quickly sought more challenging roles. He achieved critical acclaim for his performances in films such as *Edward Scissorhands* (1990), *What's Eating Gilbert Grape* (1993), and *Donnie Brasco* (1997). His portrayal of Captain Jack Sparrow in the *Pirates of the Caribbean* film series (2003-2017) cemented his status as a box-office draw.

Depp has received numerous accolades, including a Golden Globe Award for *Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street* (2007) and a Screen Actors Guild Award for *Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl* (2003). He has also been nominated for three Academy Awards for Best Actor. Beyond acting, Depp has pursued musical interests, playing guitar in various bands and owning the Viper Room nightclub in Los Angeles.
