Ilya Glinnikov has finally shed light on his personal life, speaking for the first time about the child he meticulously kept hidden. The actor, known for his role in "Interny," shared revelations that coincided with his new job – the role of obstetrician-gynecologist Andrey Viktorovich in the series "Roddom" on STS.
Filming for the new comedy project is in full swing. Glinnikov is starring alongside Lyudmila Artemyeva, Irina Ukhanova, Sergey Druzhko, and Anna Bogomolova, experiencing the stories of City Maternity Hospital No. 77. The series will air in the new season.
Although Ilya has no connection to medicine, the birth of his own child in 2025 drastically changed his perspective on this field. This personal experience was one of the reasons he agreed to the role.
"I was attracted by the script, the team, the people's approach. My own experience, which I went through, also influenced me directly. When I was preparing for the role, I went to the chief physician at the clinic where my wife and I had been for the birth. I attended his seminars. And he said something like this: 'When, at the end of training, I ask who will come to my maternity hospital, everyone immediately puts their hands behind their backs. And no one wants to go. Because it is true service.' And I am very glad to be involved with people who are guides, literally the first people," Glinnikov said.
In the series, the actor often has to interact with newborns, as he plays an obstetrician-gynecologist who delivers babies. His own experience of fatherhood proved invaluable.
"Yes, it's an invaluable experience, it helps a lot. Because here the responsibility is at the level of life. There was a scene involving an actress who had not given birth. And I, 'taking out' a three-week-old baby, placed him on her chest and made sure he didn't bury his face, didn't suffocate. I prompted her somewhere: 'Wrap him like this, with his hand like that.' Everything came in very handy. My wife and I had all sorts of things. We got up at night, and we didn't sleep. This is the best role I have ever played. In my life, there have been many moments that divided life into 'before' and 'after.' But this is the best thing that has ever happened to me in life. This is the very best," the actor shared.
It became known in the summer of 2025 that an addition was expected to Glinnikov's family. However, the actor himself confirmed his new status only in January 2026, showing the baby for the first time. The artist still keeps the child's name, gender, and the identity of his chosen one a secret.
