Zendaya Maree Stoermer Coleman, professionally known as Zendaya, is an American actor, singer, dancer, and model born in Oakland, California, on September 1, 1996. Her early life was steeped in the arts, as she performed with Future Shock Oakland, California Shakespeare Theater, and studied at the Oakland School for the Arts. She began her career as a child model and backup dancer before landing her breakout role as Rocky Blue on the Disney Channel sitcom "Shake It Up" (2010-2013).

Zendaya transitioned to more mature roles, gaining critical acclaim for her portrayal of Rue Bennett, a teenager struggling with drug addiction, in the HBO drama series "Euphoria" (2019-present). This role earned her two Primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series, making her the youngest two-time winner in the category. Her film credits include roles in the "Spider-Man" franchise as MJ, "The Greatest Showman," and "Dune."
