Kim Kardashian has revealed she “needed to heal” before embarking on her romance with Lewis Hamilton. The reality icon shared in a new interview with The Times’ Style Magazine that following her high-profile divorce from Kanye West in 2021, she “was really single for five years,” with the exception of a nine-month relationship with Pete Davidson in 2022.

The Skims founder, 45, described her break from dating as “great,” explaining that it allowed her to “focus on [her] kids and projects that [she] really wanted to be involved with.” She added, “I really felt no rush. Like, I really didn’t feel empty. I felt like I needed my time.”

The “American Horror Story” actress expressed her desire to “completely heal and just work on” herself after her tumultuous split from the “Stronger” rapper, with whom she shares North, 13, Saint, 10, Chicago, 8, and Psalm, 7. “I wasn’t ready to open up,” she stated. “I really wasn’t even thinking about it. The universe works in your favour when you just allow it to.”

The “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” star and the Formula 1 driver, who have been rumored to be dating for months, made their public debut as a couple in February when they attended the Super Bowl together to watch the Seattle Seahawks defeat the New England Patriots in Southern California. Their relationship has largely been kept private, with occasional glimpses shared on social media.

Hamilton took to Instagram in July, posting pictures of the couple during a family getaway and urging his followers to “hold your people close.” In August, he shared intimate photos with the TV personality, captioning them, “Resting, restoring, recharging ! ! ! .” Kardashian also shared a photo with Hamilton, where she wore a pink Gucci bikini and he affectionately wrapped his arm around her waist.

While her divorce from West has presented challenges, with her mom Kris Jenner telling her that “the coming years [would be the best of [her] life],” as per a September 2025 Vogue cover story, Kardashian appears to have maintained the respect of another ex. In an interview last month, Davidson, 32, recalled the challenges of dating within the famous family. “Look, man, that’s a really tough atmosphere if you’re not game,” the comedian told the outlet. “One of the things I love about Kim and that whole family is they’re like, ‘This is what we do.'”
