The Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources confirmed on Sunday that Kinney's body was recovered near Grayson Lake, approximately five days after she was reported missing.

Authorities from the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources stated that multiple agencies located the teen's body in the Grayson area around 3:45 p.m. Sunday. Kinney's family has been notified, and the Carter County Coroner was contacted and responded to the scene. The State Medical Examiner's Office in Frankfort will determine the cause of death.

Kinney was last seen on Wednesday, when she vanished during a boating outing on Grayson Lake.
