Ariana Grande Breaks Silence on Her Plans to Step Back From the Spotlight
Ariana Grande has addressed her plans to step back from the public eye after her Eternal Sunshine Tour concludes on September 1. Her representative had previously announced a temporary hiatus for the singer.
Speaking at her Chicago concert on August 3, Grande clarified, "The announcement that was made yesterday was not a reactive or impulsive thing. It is something that I had decided to plan, that I had quietly made a long time ago.” She denied that "negativity was ruining things" for her, stating her decision came from a "thoughtful and empowered place." Grande added, "Multiple things can be true at the same time. Boundaries can need to be set. Human beings can need a break sometimes. And also this can be and will continue to be the greatest experience of my professional career." She concluded, "No matter what noises exist out there, nothing will be able to distort my reality or be more real to me or louder to me as this love that we share."
