Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have reportedly moved into a friend’s home in the UK. The couple, along with their two children, Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet, 5, have been staying with a wealthy businessman in the Cotswolds since August.
Initially, the family was “living in the main house” on the estate, but an insider revealed they recently “moved to a property on the estate.” Harry reportedly became friends with the businessman through their shared support of military charities. The close friend is said to be happy for the Sussexes and their children to continue residing on his property.
This move follows previous reports that Harry and Markle were house hunting for a home near his father, King Charles III. Royal commentator Tom Sykes previously told Page Six that a friend of Harry’s had indicated he was looking for a property in the Cotswolds, close to Charles and Queen Camilla’s Highgrove House residence. Sykes noted that Harry knows the area “very well.”
Meanwhile, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are still maintaining their mansion in Montecito, California, a source exclusively told Page Six in September. Interestingly, when the couple first relocated to the US in 2020 after stepping back as senior royals, they also stayed at a friend’s home – specifically, Tyler Perry’s Tuscan-style villa in Beverly Hills, which Page Six confirmed in May 2020. They eventually purchased their own home in August of that year.
The couple’s second relocation to the UK has been a challenging time, especially with Meghan’s father, Thomas Markle Sr., facing disturbing allegations. Harry, 42, and Markle, 45, reportedly traveled overseas with their children last week, though their destination was not disclosed. A friend close to the “Suits” alum told Hello! Magazine that Meghan was “really, really upset” and “in tears” thinking about the alleged victims, particularly given she has young children herself. In a statement to Page Six last month, Meghan addressed the allegations concerning her father, stating, “I hope it can now be understood that, despite certain media pub.”
