Savannah Chrisley has fiercely defended her unborn child amidst mounting backlash over her pregnancy and engagement to Jason Galanis. The "Chrisley Knows Best" alum took to Instagram Stories on Tuesday, sharing a sonogram picture and asserting that her child is worth all the public scrutiny.
“You are not a headline. You are not a controversy,” Chrisley wrote. “You are not defined by anyone’s past, anyone’s mistakes, or anyone’s opinions.” She emphasized that her child is “innocent, deeply loved and the greatest blessing” to both her and her fiancé. “No amount of noise in this world will ever overshadow the joy of being your mama,” she continued. “You are my answered prayer. And I will never apologize for celebrating you.”
The 29-year-old dropped the bombshell news of her pregnancy and engagement in an Instagram video on Tuesday. While she didn't explicitly name Galanis, she did mention her fiancé was “much older” than her. Us Weekly later identified Chrisley’s husband-to-be as Jason Galanis, 56, who is 27 years her senior. Galanis is a former associate of Hunter Biden and testified in the Republican impeachment inquiry into former President Joe Biden in March 2024, while still incarcerated.
Galanis was sentenced to over 14 years in prison in September 2020 for his involvement in two schemes, one of which defrauded a Native American tribe and investors out of tens of millions of dollars. He was pardoned by President Trump in March 2025. Interestingly, Galanis shares common ground with Chrisley's father, Todd Chrisley, 57. Both men were pardoned by President Trump – Todd and his wife, Julie Chrisley, were pardoned after being convicted of tax fraud – and both served time together at Federal Prison Camp in Pensacola, Florida, from January to August 2023.
On her "Unlocked" podcast episode on Tuesday, Savannah also addressed her and Galanis’ age gap. “I have always said, ‘I would rather [have] 20 phenomenal, unbelievable years with someone than 50 just [fine] years,’” she stated. She praised Galanis, asserting that he “does not look his age, nor does he act his age,” and gushed about his "g" (the sentence was cut off in the source text).
