Meghan Markle, born Rachel Meghan Markle on August 4, 1981, in Los Angeles, California, is an American actress and philanthropist. She attended Northwestern University, graduating in 2003 with a degree in theater and international studies. Before achieving widespread recognition, Markle worked as a freelance calligrapher and held minor acting roles.

Markle's career breakthrough came with her role as Rachel Zane in the legal drama series "Suits," which she starred in from 2011 to 2017. During her acting career, she also founded and ran the lifestyle website "The Tig," which focused on food, travel, fashion, and beauty. In 2018, she married Prince Harry, becoming the Duchess of Sussex.

Following her marriage, Markle focused on philanthropic endeavors, advocating for gender equality, education, and mental health awareness. She has worked with organizations such as World Vision and UN Women. In 2020, she and Prince Harry stepped down as senior members of the British Royal Family and relocated to California.
