Larisa Dolina has declared war on everyone who dares to joke about her online or use her name for commercial purposes. The singer's director, Sergey Pudovkin, stated that a team of lawyers has already identified numerous violations and is ready for "financial punishment" of the offenders.
According to Pudovkin, mockery and insults cause discomfort not only to the People's Artist herself but also to her loved ones – her daughter and granddaughter, who are also subjected to bullying online. "Lawyers have identified a large number of instances to date of Larisa Dolina's name being used for commercial purposes, including images of her face and name, music, and videos for their advertising. We will mark these instances. Of course, we will investigate, we will punish financially," the star's assistant cut off.
It should be recalled that the authors of memes, most often humorous, are ordinary Russians. Alexander Khaminsky, head of the Center for Law and Order in Moscow and Moscow Region, noted that the Supreme Court has repeatedly distinguished between verifiable statements of fact and evaluative judgments, and "a joke, irony, or critical opinion are not slander in themselves."
Even Vitaly Milonov, who himself became the hero of countless memes, suggested that Dolina slow down. "You could call me a veteran in this field. You shouldn't take it too seriously or get overly offended. You can become a professional complainer. And as we know, in our country, they haul water on the offended," the parliamentarian advised.
Lawyer Alexander Benkhin even predicts the opposite effect from the singer's actions. He forecasts the "Streisand effect," where an attempt to remove or prohibit information leads to an avalanche of increased attention and the spread of new memes. In his opinion, the internet will simply be flooded with publications about Dolina.
